Getting off the plane, once arriving in Cairo there is a distinct fog in the air. Looking up a ‘black cloud’ surrounds your airspace. A couple coughs are expected because of this drastic change from the indoor air. This air pollution resulting from years of farmers burning waste and rice. Years of building manufacturers with little knowledge of the lasting impacts on Egyptians. There’s no surprise that numerous diseases and sickness follows this polluted air. Many Egyptians become riddled with disease because of this ‘black cloud’. In order to prevent more Egyptians from falling sick there needs to be more awareness for the effects of pollutions and ways to dispose waste in a more enviourmental friendly way.
