Another common issue that causes large hassles for local Egyptians are the high sidewalks. This may be overlooked by many, however older people and children have harder times getting on the sidewalk. My grandma has a harder time getting up on these sidewalks. This may be a large reason why many elderly Egyptians are wary on traveling by themselves so they stay in their homes. This isolation because of a fear of tripping over unkept sidewalks may be easily fixed if the sidewalks were lower. Instead they resort to walking on the road, this leaves them susceptible to injuries from the cars driving by. These sidewalks run throughout Egypt making it hard for local Egyptians traveling. On the sidewalks themselves the tiles aren’t even causing many to trip and fall. These simple mishap for the sidewalks poses a large threat to many Egyptians.
