We were driving during the rush hours in Cairo and frankly speaking all day feels like rush hours. With so many cars in the streets and no really clear lane lines you cant tell how many cars does the street width would fit. Out of nowhere we hear the ambulance sirens coming from behind. I am used to cars going to the right and yielding to allow the ambulance to pass, waiting anxiously but nothing happened. No cars went to the side and no attention to the non stopping sirens. Thinking that one life might be lost during this situation made me really sad. Is that due to streets being congested and technically there is no side that cars can yield to to give path, or people are really indifferent to emergency vehicles in the streets of Cairo. Either way this is pretty sad situation with lives lost intentionally or not.
