One thing which is a big health hazard in the streets of Cairo is the stray dogs. This is a complicated problem for Egypt, the stories you hear are scary. A friend of the family was walking in a dark street and apparently she didn’t notice the pack of dogs, unfortunately she was attacked . In the hospital they found she has some kind of brain infection, the dog has rabies. She didn’t survive the attack. Such stories makes you feel bad for people in the streets, on the other hands how they handled this problem makes you sick.
What I heard that Egypt uses strychnine sulfate to poison the stray dogs, in other areas they can shoot them in the streets. In addition to this inhumane way to handling the problem, having poison and blood in the streets pose many health risks to another streets inhabitants.
