I am used to look for the milk in the fridge in any grocery store in LA. In Cairo, I love going to grocery stores specially the authentic food section and the exotic fruits. When my mom asked me to pick up milk , I went to the fridge section but there was none. Looking around and finally found the carts of milk laying on the shelves. I have no idea why the milk is not refrigerated, is it because it is loaded with preservatives? is it even safe to drink. People are used to seeing milk out of the fridge. So far I don’t know whether it was safe Healthwise to drink or so, but I did drink it.

According to FDA, perishable foods like milk should not sit out of the refrigerator or cooler for longer than two hours. Cut that time down to an hour in the summer if the temperature reaches 90 degrees F. After that time frame, bacteria can start to grow.
