years ago walking in the streets my grandma would tell me don’t cross on those circular iron structures . I didn’t know what are those but I listened to my grandma. I remember this as today my mom was reading news about 2 car accidents with 6 fatalities. All of them are in their 20’s with a full life ahead of them. Accident happened when a car passed over an elevated sewage drain apparently not build to standards, caused car to cross divider hitting the car with 6 fatalities. Those sewage drains are death traps closed or opened. Young kids can easily fall in them and sadly they do.

The issue with those drains not only they exist in a weird places in the streets, they usually aren’t closed properly or maintained. Some say that covers get stolen not sure why steal rusted iron. Anyway it is pretty dangerous hazard on the streets in Cairo usually in poor, populated areas.
